Snow College will postpone or cancel commencement on both the Ephraim and Richfield campus locations. The Emergency Operations Team is exploring options and a final announcement will be made on or before April 1, 2020. Students will not be held responsible for the cost of the caps and gowns ordered, though they may still purchase them from the campus store if desired.
President Bradley J. Cook expressed his regret that the school will not be able to hold the commencement ceremony as usual. He said, “We know this decision will be disappointing to many. We share that disappointment; however, our number one concern is the health and safety of the college community. In light of the recent CDC recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19, we felt that the only responsible option was to not hold such a large gathering in May.”
Student Body President Ben Scheffner said, “I am sad to hear that the Class of 2020 will not be able to celebrate our graduation in May, but I support President Cook and other school leaders in this decision.”
