If you are awarded a Non Resident Academic Scholarship you will be e-mailed a copy of your contract. You will be required to accept the scholarship through My Snow Portal. By accepting the scholarship on My Snow Portal you are agreeing to the terms and conditions contained within the scholarship contract. These terms bind you, the student, to the requirements of the scholarship.

Deferment / Leave of Absence

If you choose to interrupt your education for church or military service, maternity leave, or extended medical or personal reasons while the academic scholarship is in effect, you may be eligible to use the remaining portion of your award at a later time. You must complete a leave of absence form and provide the necessary support documentation prior to your absence in order to hold your scholarship. Utah Resident Academic Scholarships are typically the only deferrable scholarships. Contact the scholarship office to confirm if your scholarship is deferrable. If you are awarded a departmental scholarship and want to take a leave of absence, you will need to contact the department when you return and re-apply for the scholarship by March 1st.

While you may qualify for one of these academic scholarships, these awards are awarded based on available funds. All are awarded on a first-come first-served basis. Scholarships are available to new incoming freshmen only.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

WUE is the Western Undergraduate Exchange, a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). This tuition rate pertains only to nonresident students from AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, ND, NM NV, OR, SD, WA, WY. Students receiving this tuition rate will be charged one and one half times the resident tuition. Any new student from a qualify state will be placed on the WUE tuition rate unless they request otherwise.

Any credits earned by students while on the WUE tuition rate cannot be used to meet the requirements for Utah residency for tuition purposes. It is advised students weigh the benefits of this tuition rate based on their desire to transfer to another school after completing at Snow College or if they would like to pursue Utah residency.

Any credits earned by students on a WUE scholarship cannot be used to meet the requirements for Utah residency. Scholarships are available to new incoming freshmen only.
